ANTIQUE 1800’s Solid Oak Cylinder Secretary Desk with 2 Glass Upper Bookcase Doors (with adjustable shelves) above a Barrel Roll Desk Section & Outstanding ORIGINAL Hardware! This Secretary is a 3 piece sectional unit and features pin and cove construction on all drawers, a fabulous middle desk section with a pull-out writing desk surface, 2 upper glass display doors, & the correct matching top crown. The bottom section with the 3 drawers features the Knapp Joinery (pin and cove) construction. It is a very strong form of drawer joinery but was only utilized from 1870 until about 1900. The top drawer under the desk section is deep like the desk & the 2 lower drawers step-back for a unique design. This beautiful piece of furniture has been professionally refinished & it measures approx. 41″ wide by 93″ high by 21-1/2″ deep. This magnificent beauty has applied carvings on the trophy board and detailed accented incised carving embracing the raised panel drawers. The original key functions to lock the top section doors and the 3 bottom drawers. Inside there still remains the original desk partitions/compartments & this fantastic piece is room ready. The hardware on this piece is mesmerizing and adds the final touch to a stand alone masterpiece.
